Valerie is not a life coach. She is an EMPOWERMENT coach.
Her ultimate goal: not just to give you advice and make you feel good about yourself — which she will do 🙂 — but she also wants to make sure that you are working toward taking your life back. You will learn how to bravely face life’s challenges, perhaps living a new normal you never anticipated.
Coaching is distinct from advice, consulting, counseling, mentoring and therapy. Valerie’s coaching process takes on specific personal goals by analyzing your current situation, identifying existing or potential challenges and obstacles to devise a plan of action designed to achieve specific outcomes.
One-on-one coaching with Valerie is a creative partnership. Together you will:
- Identify / clarify what you are struggling with;
- Leverage Valerie’s years of experience;
- Gain awareness and insight into what is holding you back;
- Implement Actions that empower you;
- Develop a plan of action to regain control of your life;
- Leverage the Still Standing Sisterhood Membership.
Valerie will keep in contact to help you with accountability to increase results — but remember — you are the key to your own success.
Research shows that coaching is a far more potent combination than training alone. Training someone by giving them tools and techniques to cope with circumstances is powerful, but working together with an Empowerment Coach takes this to a different level.
Empowerment Coaching Misconceptions
There are so many myths out there about coaching. Here are some of the most common:
“Coaching is like unlicensed therapy.” Therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and motivations. It is analytical, but not action-oriented. Valerie is not a health professional, and she does not diagnose. Her empowerment coaching is focused on helping you to use tools that will empower you to gain control of the things you can control, such as attitude, happiness, peace, and your thought process.
“Anyone can be an empowerment coach and coaches do not require training.” This isn’t the case. Great coaches must possess the right blend of expertise and skilled delivery. This ensures that they can properly motivate and encourage people while determining and resolving the core issues that merit attention in each case. More importantly, a good coach should have walked a tough road and have results to show for it!
“Coaching is only for people who have problems or who can’t succeed on their own.” This is so NOT TRUE! First of all, everybody has problems, no matter how their life looks from the outside looking in. Even the most skilled, successful people can benefit from coaching. Empowerment coaching is for anyone who wants to overcome adversity, become happier and more peaceful, improve their life, and become more purposeful – both personally and professionally.
“Coaches let you vent, then they offer advice.” As much as Valerie has incredible listening skills, she also know firsthand that simply listening and empathizing keeps people trapped. She understands that delivering high-quality coaching is far more than giving advice. She knows how to guide you to take action.

How does Valerie’s coaching work?
Valerie uses her Nine Actions to Battle Your Beast as a framework for your coaching sessions and the implementation strategies for your life. You will work through a Workbook, with Valerie’s guidance and specific focus on your obstacles and challenges. However, we don’t simply use the Workbook included with the program, but we will also develop a personal action plan.
Your access to the Still Standing Sisterhood private membership will provide additional tools and resources, available to you 24/7.
The work you do will prepare you for potential obstacles and decide how to cope with them. It will also help you to move forward in areas in which you might be stuck. Valerie helps you stay motivated and track your progress.
Your plan may include work challenges, and while those issues will be addressed, work and personal life cannot always be separated. Valerie has found that when you work on yourself personally, business and work challenges are improved along the way.
Where you are right now, you might not even be thinking about achieving goals, it might be that you want to get back to where you were, but depending upon how significant your challenges are, you may want to work on some future goals.
Few people can honestly say that they are already performing at the top of their game each and every day — especially if they’ve walked through significant trauma.
